About the President

jeff-lefkovichJeff Lefkovich is the Founder and President of JB Commercial and its subsidiaries. He started his career in 1984 when he formed Corporate Fitness Services, a consulting firm that designed and built health/fitness centers. In 1990 he entered the health care and retirement community fields where he spearheaded large-scale planning, design, and development projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

Universal Design is the creation of products and environments meant to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialization. The intent of Universal Design is to simplify life for everyone by making products, communications and the built environment more usable by as many people as possible at little or no extra cost. Universal Design benefits people of all ages and abilities.

Since the early 1990’s, Jeff has been studying the concept of Universal Design and the relationship between the living environment and the changing physical needs of an aging population. His published articles on creating homes that meet the needs of older adults have been widely referred to throughout the U.S.

With his experience in consulting, coaching, and as a former adjunct faculty member at Saint Joseph College, Jeff takes a different approach when working with his design/build clients.  “Education and knowledge are key to making the right decisions,” he says. “My clients should feel empowered and confident with their projects.” Jeff maintains a unique philosophy that defines the culture at JB Commercial and it’s subsidiaries. “We are all interdependent. Clients, designers, engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers, all work collaboratively as a team. This ensures the best possible outcome and realization of our client’s vision.”

Jeff earned his undergraduate degree from Springfield College, a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a second master’s degree from Saint Joseph College. He supports a wide range of community-based nonprofit organizations such as Ability Beyond Disability, VNA Health Care, Mercy Community Health, and Big Cat Rescue.
